Seems more and more rappers are using the Treo for "flossing" in their videos. While Apple probably paid money to have the iPod in a few music videos a few years back, it seems as though the Treo is getting free ride cause I doubt the marketing people at Palm will try placing their Treo in a rap videos, but hey you never know.
***Update: I stand Corrected***
It seems as though Palm may actually be product placing after all and it seems to be paying off. At many hip hop clubs, you spot the Treo more and more and your see more and more younger people using the Treo.
If true, this is a good move by Palm since the 700P is out the 650 prices have dropped, making it more attractive. Early adopters like me had to pay a whopping $500 for the Treo. While the 650 is unstable*, many in this target audience will not be hardcore users since they most still have the mindset that the Treo is just another cool mobile phone, thus will not run into the many buggy problems that happen when you start installing many programs and using the Treo to its full capability. However, with sites like Treonauts.com, mytreo.net and treocentral.com, these users maybe converted to Hardcore users if they are willing to pony up the money for additional software. Unlike the desktop environment where free apps dominate, its the opposite for the Treo, particular for the kinds of apps this audience will want(I.M.O.). it will be interesting to see how this audience will react. Will they pony up the dough?
It will also be interesting to see if this audience begin to ditch their iPods since the Treo with a 2 gb sd card can hold 400 to 450 songs and even supports really cool skins.

Found a link to your blog on Treocentral...
There are LOTS of free apps for Palm devices - most designed for Palm OS v5.x work just fine. Directory Assistance, Handy Shopper, etc...not terribly sexy but very useful. Browse the board...and good luck!

Plus I've never paid full price for a phone, at least not with my carrier. I got my 700p for $300 by calling Retentions...
grace and peace...
