I never saw this one coming. Shaun King, a former teammate back at Tulane, is on ESPN as a football analyst, making appearances on NFL Live and ESPN news. I actually thought he was still playing.
For those of you who may not know, all the wide open offenses in college football you see today originated from the 98 Tulane GreenWave football team lead by head coach Tommy Bowden and offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez with Shaun King as the quarterback. We had so much success that year, going 12 and 0, that essentially half of college football copied the whole offense or took huge chunks of it.
Am not sure how Shaun was able to pull off this gig particularly if you knew him as a teammate, but he is sure doing a great job unlike Mr. Emmitt Smith who can’t finish a single sentence without stumbling and misquoting. They need to get that man a speech coach cause he is just embarrassing himself on T.V. I have totally given up on ESPN’s football coverage this season. The whole thing just kind of stinks. Emmitt can’t speak English, Keyshawn Johnson ain’t no Michael Irvin and Bill Parcells is so so. Men, I sure do miss the ever loquacious Michael Irvin.
Oh well, I think I will try CBS this year cause I hear Shannon Sharpe is a funny funny dude. But men, someone needs to put the PlayMaker back on TV.

Whats up Mr. African Nerd lol its ya boy. I was browsing some things on google and came across your blog. Hope all is well hit me up if u get a chance.

Go Tulane! Yeah I'm glad to see Shaun still involved in football but it hurts me to agree that he needs some speaking skills. Tell him I'll gladly help!

I thought i was the only one who liked Michael Irvin on ESPN, heh. And I was also surprised to see King on ESPN, too. I remember him from his Tampa Bay days.
